You can disable these cookies by changing your browser preferences (see Title 5)
4.2 Functional cookies/preference cookies
Functional cookies are necessary for the Website to function properly. These cookies improve the convenience of your Website visit and enhance the user experience. Functional cookies allow us to remember choices you make (such as your language preference) and provide better, personalised features. These cookies cannot track your browsing activity on other websites and do not collect information about you that can be used for advertising or to remember where you have been on the internet outside our Website.
We also use functional security cookies to ensure the security of our Website.
These cookies are placed directly on your browser by Alice based on our legitimate interest to provide a well-functioning and user-friendly Website, to improve the convenience of your Website visit and user experience. 4.3 Analytical or statistical cookies
Alice uses analytical cookies to provide us with information about the use of our Website and to optimise our Website.
Analytical cookies are cookies that collect information to evaluate and improve the content of our Website. Analytical cookies collect information about your visit and use of this Website, e.g. which pages you visit most often and whether you receive error messages on web pages. These cookies are used to track website performance. They help us understand which pages are most and least popular and how visitors move through the entire site. These cookies do not collect information that directly identifies a user. The analysis of these cookies generates aggregated statistics. They are useful for any changes and improvements to the Website and any information these cookies collect is only used to improve the operation and functioning of our Website.
These cookies are set based on your consent. You can withdraw your consent at any time (at a later date) (see Title 5).
4.4 Tracking or marketing cookies
Marketing cookies (e.g. advertising or tracking cookies) collect information about your browsing behaviour to make advertising more relevant to you and your interests.
We use (mainly) third-party cookies from companies such as [Facebook, LinkedIn, Google, etc]. to understand how users arrive at our Website and how they interact with us on the Website. We also use these cookies to understand how our media campaigns work. This information is used to evaluate and improve the content of our Website and our campaigns and ultimately to improve the user experience.
We use marketing cookies to [(i) deliver ads that are more relevant to you and your interests, (ii) reduce the number of times you see an ad, (iii) help measure the effectiveness of an ad campaign, and (iv) understand user behaviour after seeing an ad].
These cookies are set based on your consent. You can withdraw your consent at any time (at a later date) (see Title 5).
4.5 Social media cookies
We use social cookies from LinkedIn and Facebook, that allow you to share any content on our Website that interests you with other people on social networks. Based on your interaction with our Website, we can serve targeted ads on these networks. These cookies are placed on our Website through hyperlinks, social plug-ins or links to social media. When you use these share buttons, a third-party cookie is installed (see also Title 4.6).
Social plug-ins establish a connection to the servers of the social networks. With a click, you are sent to the respective social media page of Alice.
Your data is transferred to the respective social network. Alice may collect data by setting up the social plug-in on our Website, but we have no influence over which data or the amount of data the social network collects using the social plug-in. Each time the website in question is visited, a cookie with a unique identifier is set via the social plug-in. This enables the social network to compile a profile of your usage behaviour. It is possible that such a profile may be assigned to you in the event of subsequent initial registration with the social network, but Ocular does not have access to this profile.
If you are already registered with a social network during your visit to our Website, the social network may assign the visit via the social plug-ins to your personal account. When using functions of the social plug-ins (e.g. ‘Like’ button, ‘Tweets’, leaving comments, etc.), the information on this use is transmitted directly from your browser to the respective social network and stored there. The same applies when you call up a website of a social media provider by clicking on the corresponding button.
If you are not a member of a social network, the social networks may still receive and store your IP address and information about the browser and operating system you use via the social plug-ins.
These cookies are set on the basis of your consent. You can withdraw your consent at any time (at a later date) (see Title 5).
4.6 Third-party cookies
Some cookies we use are from third-party companies, such as Google, Adobe, LinkedIn, etc. to provide us with web analytics and information about our Website. However, these cookies may also collect information about you for their own purposes. This cookie policy does not apply to the use of your information by third parties for their own purposes. We therefore recommend that you check the cookie policies of these third parties.
